Last night I said yes to swimming with sharks just to prove to myself I am still alive and not a cardboard cut of my life, I started my bronze medallion course!
To get out of my comfort zone, which has helped to add the extra 15 kgs to my once athletic body!
I am learing to be a life saver with the Coolum Beach Surf Club!
By Saturday I need to swim 400m in 9min!! This morning I went to the pool (it is the middle of winter) and tried. Hmmmmmm I did it in 30mins and only barely.
My trainers said at bare minimum I will have to swim 200m in 5min.This is so that their insurance will cover me to go out into the ocean and train to save people! Did I mention sharks!!!!!! Big waves!!!!!! Winter water temperatures!!!!
Then at the end of the 6 week course I will be tested again to make the 400m.
Please let me know if you have done your bronze and survived!!!
I am not going to back out even though every thought in my head tells me to run as quickly as my inactive legs will take me.
I tell you what I hope I inspire some of you to do something extra ordinary as well.
